We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can delight clients through the provision of high quality, technology enabled solutions, who will become the main point of contact for the day-to-day delivery of services and has the ability to work under pressure to tight timeframes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers, including bank reconciliations and processing of journals using a variety of programs including Xero, MYOB, Dext, Lightyear and AccountKit
- Preparation of financial statements, income tax returns, group tax summary and loan summary for corporate and family groups including Trusts, Companies, Partnerships and Individuals
- Preparation of payroll tax returns, FBT returns and activity statements;
- Communication with the ATO in relation to various client matters, e.g. payment arrangements, remissions, extensions etc.;
- Working as part of a team where you will work closely with other intermediate and senior business services accountants;
- Use Xero for preparation of financials, tax return, billing & job manager
- Assist/review bank & payment matters
- Reporting in a timely and accurate manner to queries
- Processing month end transactions including accruals, prepayments, provisions, and depreciation.
- Assistance with the preparation of monthly or quarterly management accounts period end close processes
- Preparation of payroll tax and workers compensation reconciliations.
- Preparation of monthly/quarterly Business and Instalment Activity Statements
- Assist with setting up clients on Xero
- Assist in the supervision and training of junior staff
- Review of tasks assigned to juniors
- Keeping manager informed of progress and any issues arising
- Communicating and dealing with colleagues professionally and courteously
- Tasks deemed necessary to ensure excellent customer experience as determined by management
Qualifications / Skills:
- 5+ Years working in an Accounting role
- 1-2 years’ experience working in an accounting role for Australian businesses
- Completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree (or equivalent)
- Experience of Xero or other cloud accounting packages
- Desirable - experience with Dext, Lightyear, AccountKit, MYOB, Navision, NetSuite, SAP
- Strong numerical and IT skills
- Sound Microsoft Excel skills
- Has the ability and willingness to learn new systems and tools, as needed
- Experience in delegating and reviewing junior team work
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including report writing skills
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
- Willing to lead and learn and be keen and committed in a working environment.
